
On 12 March 2026, the CISMA project was presented in Lille, France, during a TEAM2 event dedicated to the role of waste preparation in achieving high-performance material recovery.
Representing MATVISION, Robert Baudinet delivered the presentation “How Multi-Sensor Technology Combined with Robotics Enables Better Scrap Metal Purification”. The presentation introduced how multi-sensor technology, when combined with robotic systems, can support more accurate and efficient purification of scrap metal.
This approach is closely aligned with the objectives of CISMA, which aims to advance innovative solutions for cleaner and more effective metal recycling. By improving the detection, classification and separation of materials, sensor-based and robotic technologies can help increase the quality of recovered scrap and support the production of higher-value secondary raw materials.
The event brought together stakeholders from the recycling and circular economy sectors to discuss key steps in the preparation of waste for valorisation, including characterisation, sampling, shredding, separation and sorting quality. Within this context, the discussion focused on how improved preparation processes can contribute to more efficient recycling value chains, particularly in sectors such as steel recycling.
