Volvo Cars is committed to become a fully electric car company, and to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, rethinking sustainability in their operations, their cars and in society. 

Volvo Cars is a global company and since 1927, their global headquarters has remained in its hometown, Gothenburg, Sweden. They produce cars in Gothenburg (Sweden); Ghent (Belgium); Charleston (US); Chengdu, Daqing and Taizhou (China), selling them in more than 100 countries. 

Contribution to CiSMA

Volvo Cars manufacturing facilities and industrial expertise will be utilized to reach the project goals. Volvo Cars main role in the CiSMA project is to organize and carry out one of the industrial demonstrators of the project, consisting in two components for a car model. Volvo Cars also participates in research activities around material testing and modelling.
